The Australian Lions Hearing Dogs program was founded in 1980 with the first hearing dog, Amber, being placed in 1982. Since then, over 650 Hearing Assistance Dogs have been placed Australia-wide, a local Lions Club involved with each and every one, and all going to their deaf and hard of hearing recipients free-of-charge.
Our club supports ALHD through puppy sponsorship, financial donations, placement of dogs, and fostering puppies.
