About Us
Elizabeth Playford Lions Club
Our Club History
The Lions Club of Elizabeth was formed 25th February 1963.
Elizabeth is a suburb in the north of city of Adelaide, South Australia. It was established in 1955 as a master planned satellite town by the South Australian Housing Trust. The City of Elizabeth was formed on 16 November 1955, being named after Queen Elizabeth II, who visited the city in 1963.
Elizabeth is home to large areas of open space, with the most prominent being Fremont Park.
Elizabeth is the home city of the Central District Football Club {the Bulldogs}, an Australian Rules Football team in the South Australian National Football League, (SANFL).
Elizabeth is now part of the City of Playford, the City of Elizabeth having merged with the City of Munno Para in 1997. After the merger, the Lions Club changed its name to the Lions Club of Elizabeth Playford.
We meet to discuss our plans for future support of the community 6.45 for 7.15pm on the 2nd Wednesday of each month, at our Lions Den, Hilcott street, Elizabeth North.
We also meet at 6.45 for 7.15pm 4th Wednesdays of each month when we often have guest speakers to enlighten us about the needs of other community groups followed by supper.

Lions Clubs are part of community life, in the cities and in the country. Clubs are easily identified by their distinctive Logo, the trademark of our International Association, and the ‘We Serve’; motto.
Lions Australia is part of an international association, filled with people who are joined by the common desire to make their communities better, by using their creativity, enthusiasm and energy. Membership is by invitation and is open to all people of the community in good standing.
Every journey begins with a single step. One act of service, one encouraging word, one gift of generosity is often all it takes to bring hope where it’s needed most.
Over the last 100 years, the kindness of Lions and Leos has multiplied across borders, oceans, and continents. With over 1.4 million members, we now have an opportunity to truly change our world.
Lions service is primarily focused around their Global Causes which present significant challenges to humanity.
